No one is safe when you're engaged in an 'All-Out War'

CLEVELAND, Ohio - There's one productive (or not) way to spend your time preparing for the return of "The Walking Dead." And that's analyzing every second of the Season 8 trailer.

AMC debuted the trailer during Comic-Con San Diego in July. Fans have speculated on what the lengthy teaser means for characters like Rick, Daryl, Maggie and others. But the person whose trailer-footage may be the most telling is Morgan.

Not only does the fan-favorite character practice some of his fighting moves against Jesus (Finally!). But Morgan also delivers the most memorable line: "I don't die!"

Of course, that's probably not what "TWD" fans want to hear. Typically, anytime someone talks about death or becomes a voice of reason (See: Herschel, Tyreese and Dale), they're a goner.

This has led many, including the good folks over at ComicBook.com, to speculate on whether or not Morgan will meet his demise. During a recent Season 8 preview special, actor Lennie James had some fun with Morgan's quote in the trailer.

"It doesn't matter what my reaction to it is," James said during the AMC telecast. "The fans' reactions and my kids' reaction to it is, 'Daddy, does that mean you're dead?'"

The TV version of Morgan has outlived the comic book one. But Morgan has taken on a much more meaningful presence in the series. It's tough to imagine him not making it to the end.

Could he lose his life at the end of Season 8? Well, someone has to.

"The Walking Dead" Season 8 premieres Oct. 22.
