ESPN “SportsCenter” host Jemele Hill has landed in hot water with her employer after declaring President Trump to be a “white supremacist” on Twitter.

Hill tweeted Monday, “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.”

Her tweet Monday night was a response to others tweeting about Kid Rock, the Republican rocker and Trump supporter who is considering a U.S. Senate run in Michigan, The Washington Post reported.

Yesterday, the sports network released a statement distancing itself from remarks the 41-year-old host made on Twitter on Monday.

“The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the president do not represent the position of ESPN. We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate,” the ESPN statement said.

ESPN, which has been accused by conservatives of leaning heavily left in political commentary, did not indicate that Hill will be suspended or otherwise disciplined for her remarks.

Hill had initially commented on an article tweeted by The Hill about Kid Rock rejecting claims that he is a racist because he has sported the Confederate flag in the past, The Washington Post reported.

Hill tweeted, “He loves black people so much that he pandered to racists by using a flag that unquestionably stands for dehumanizing black people.”

That tweet prompted hundreds of responses pro and con, the Post reported, which led to the discussion about the president. Conservative media outlets, including the Federalist, the Daily Caller and Breitbart, criticized her, suggesting that ESPN would have fired Hill if she made similarly inflammatory remarks about liberal politicians.

ESPN notoriously fired Curt Schilling over a cartoon criticizing North Carolina’s controversial “bathroom bill” over transgender use of public bathrooms.
