A Staten Island man already on probation for collecting a small arsenal of guns and ammo was caught with another cache

A Staten Island man already on probation for collecting a small arsenal of guns and ammo was caught with another cache in his home -- when his probation officer stopped by, police said Monday.

The stash in Anthony Romano’s New Springville home included three AR-15 rifles, an AK-47 rifle and an Uzi submachine gun, both disassembled, three disassembled pistols, armor-piercing bullets and an ammo press, authorities said.

Cops tweeted out a photo of the haul, laying it out on a table inside the 121st Precinct stationhouse.

"I purchased all those items on a website, but I don't remember which site it was," Romano told cops, according to a criminal complaint.

Police confiscated the weapons after a probation officer dropped in on Romano for a routine visit Friday, according to authorities.

Back in November 2014, cops found a similar stash in his home after he threatened a 43-year-old man with a replica assault rifle, cops said.

Police found five fake assault rifles, three fake long rifles, 12 fake handguns and a collection of knives and daggers, as well as two real AR-15 rifles and a several bullets.

Romano was convicted of attempted criminal weapon possession in May 2016. He now faces several felony weapon charges and remains held on $100,000 bail.
