Brian Marsh Semrinec, 24, was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on Sunday, online records show. He’s being held without bond pending court proceedings.

Semrinec is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of 28-year-old Shuyi Li of Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant.

Police found her body Sept. 18  in a residence in the 2300 block of Willington Shoals Place. Officers checked on her when she didn’t show up for work.

Semrinec was arrested in Dallas a week later.

He has a court hearing scheduled for Oct. 31, according to Kim Isaza, a spokeswoman for the Cobb County District Attorney’s office. However, that date could change if Semrinec gets an attorney before then.

Semrinec is accused of killing Li “by striking her about the head and neck with a sharp-edged weapon,” according to the arrest warrant.

They had the same home address at the time of her death, according to the warrant.
