Franco and Weekley reportedly were separated and Weekley was taken home, but the two continued arguing via text message throughout the night, Snelgrove said.

Witnessess said the two, who lived near each other, met in the street early in the morning and appeared they were going to have a physical altercation.

Weekley allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed Franco before fleeing, Snelgrove said. Franco was taken to CHI St. Luke's Hospital in Lake Jackson, where she was pronounced dead.

Weekley and her boyfriend were apprehended in Bee County, northwest of Corpus Christi, a few hours later, Snelgrove said. She was brought back to Brazoria County and booked into the county jail on a charge of murder, with bond set at $500,000.
